--- DYNAMO and NAVISWORKS --------------------------------------

DYNAMO

Dynamo is a graphical programming interface that allows you to customize your build information workflow. Dynamo is an open source visual programming platform for designers. Installs as part of Revit, along with Revit-specific scheduling nodes.

Dynamo is a visual scripting program that allows you to create custom algorithms to process data and generate geometry. To understand each other, Dynamo allows us to "program" through the use of visual elements, "nodes" instead of using the typical lines of code.

Dynamo is mainly used to automate processes, among these automations the most frequent cases are:

1 - Manage parameters in bulk.

2 - Model and modify the model in bulk

3 - Export and import database information

4 - Automate the generation of plans, views and their elements.

5- Place complex parts of the model automatically.

6 - change material parameters as an example of Dynamo.

7 - Automation of BIM uses, for example that of costs.

8 - Creation of automatic labels.

9 - Audit the models.

10 - Collect project information.

Note: The use of these applications is only done on behalf of the client and other offices of architects and engineers.

NAVISWORKS

Navisworks is one of the most used 3D visualization tools by architects and engineers. It allows users to open and combine 3D models, navigate through them in real time, and review the model using a set of tools that includes comments, redlining, point of view, and measurements. Construction time estimation and planning is critical to optimizing resources during the construction phase.

From its use I highlight the following:

1 - Indispensable review tool with multiple measurement tools.

2 - Ability to open the most common 3D on the market.

3 - Integration of point clouds.

4 - Clash Detection (Detection of interference between the different facilities within the project).

5 - 4d and 5d integration.

6 - Incorporation of information from the BIM tool (Revit, Plant 3D).

7 - Possibility of attaching information to the elements with a simple Link.

8 - Very simple creation of presentations and renders.

9 - Uses of visualization filters.

In short, Navisworks is currently perhaps one of the best 3D visualization tools. It is capable of opening all the most popular 3D design file formats, allows interactive navigation, generate animations, photorealistic representations, clash detection, 4D construction simulation, …

Note: The use of these applications is only done on behalf of the client and other offices of architects and engineers.
